Arson attacks

In January 2015 an arson attack damaged the floor of the community hall. The repair cost was covered by our neighbouring churches. The person was caught in our security camera but his face was covered by hood. The police is yet to find the criminal.

In the middle of the night of 15 April 2015, another huge arson attack burnt the main Mosque building beyond repairs. Two days later, a planned Mosque Open Day and Food Festival were held the Recreation Centre of USQ. Over 5000 people participated in the event.

Muslims in Toowoomba was terribly shocked but equally determined to rebuild the burnt Mosque. The resilience and commitment of the community and their united efforts gradually led to the rebuilding of Toowoomba Mosque project.
